At SmartGrading, every single card is examined in detail – with great care, modern technology, and a trained eye. Our goal is simple: fair, consistent, and fully transparent grading that you can trust long-term.

We use, among other tools:

• – High-resolution magnifiers/microscopes & light tables
  for detecting even the smallest surface flaws, scratches, and print lines – even under challenging lighting conditions
• – Micromillimeter rulers & digital measurement systems
  for precise evaluation of centering and cut
• – UV and blue light sourcesn
  to detect alterations, restorations, and discoloration
• – Edge and corner testers
  for accurately identifying even the smallest frays, dents, or production flaws

Using these tools, we evaluate each card in four key categories: Corners, Edges, Surface, and Centering. These subgrades together form the final overall grade of your card.

Our standards are deliberately strict and uncompromising – often tougher than those of other grading services. Why? Because we believe that honest and consistent grading is the only way to build trust.

And most importantly: The full grading, including all subgrades, is permanently integrated into the slab – and can be accessed by anyone, anytime, via the QR code – transparent, digital, and tamper-proof.
